Mysuru: There is a need for Police to use the latest technology to work efficiently, said City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao, here this morning.

Speaking at the passing out parade of 5th batch of Civil Police Constables from Mysuru City Police Training School (PTS) at CAR Grounds, he advised the newly passed out Constables to also work on enhancing their skills.

He asked the Constables to balance between their personal and professional life as it was important to lead a good life.

Stating it was important for Police to earn the respect of the people, the city’s top cop added that once the respect and faith was earned, there would be no work for lathies or other forces.

The PTS also honoured Constables who had performed well during their eight-month training since Feb. 2017. The school felicitated guest lecturers, instructors and lecturers for enlightening the trainees on different aspects.

DCP N. Vishnuvardhana administered the oath of office to 198 newly-recruited Constables. DCP (CAR) and PTS Principal B.V. Kittur, KARP Mounted Company Deputy Commandant Praveen Alva and others were present. The following are the winners in various categories:

Indoor: 1. H. Nagarajappa (Davanagere), 2. T.C. Vijayakumara (Davanagere), 3. K. Shivakumar Nayaka (Bengaluru).

Outdoor: 1. H. Nagarajappa (Davanagere), 2. T.C. Vijayakumara (Davanagere), 3. C. Venkatesh (Tumakuru).

Rifle Shooting: 1. Pujara Ganesh (Davanagere) and K. Mahesh (Bengaluru), 2. Ramesh S. Hiremani (Belagavi City), 3. H. Nagarajappa (Davanagere).

All Round Best: H. Nagarajappa (Davanagere).

DG and IGP Award: Prabhakara Suresh Bhosi (Belagavi City).
