3-day Karnataka Vaggeya Vaibhava-II at Ganabharathi from Jan. 30

Haridasotsava and Thyagaraja Aradhana on Feb. 2

Mysuru: Ganabharathi has organised Karnataka Vaggeya Vaibhava-II, presenting the compositions of seven well-known Vaggeyakaras of Karnataka from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 at Veene Seshanna Bhavan in Kuvempunagar. The event is co-sponsored by Devageetam Charitable Trust and Kannada & Culture Department, Bengaluru. Event details are as follows:

Jan. 30 – 6 pm: Compositions of Vid. B.K. Padmanabha Rao by Vidu. Hiranmayi Srinidhi; 7 pm: Compositions of Vid. N. Chennakeshavaiah by Vidu. M.A. Jyothi; Jan. 31 – 6 pm: Compositions of Vid. Veene Shivaramaiah by Vidu. Chaitrika and Vidu. Anisha Hebbar; 7 pm: Compositions of Vid. Swaramurthy V.N. Rao by Vid. Manasa Nayana; Feb. 1 – 6 pm: Compositions of Vid. C.N. Shastry by Vid. N. Srinath; 7 pm: Compositions of Vid. Narayana Udupa Sastry by Vidu. Ambika Gurudatt and Vidu. Kaladhari Bhavani; 8 pm: Compositions of Vid. Padmacharan by Vid. Vinay Sharva.

For the concerts, violin support will be by Vid. Achyuta Rao, Vidu. Veena Suresh, Vidu. Aditi Krishnaprakash and  Vid. H.S. Thandavamurthy and mridanga support by Vid. Vikram Bharadwaj, Vid. Sai Shiv Lakshmi Keshav, Vid. H.L. Shivashankar Swamy and Vid. C.A. Gurudatt.

On Feb. 2, Haridasotsava and Saint Thyagaraja Aradhana have been organised by Ganabharathi and co-sponsored by Kannada & Culture Department and family members of late C.N. Narayan Rao and late Susheelamma Narayanarao. Events are as follows:

10 am: Hindustani concert by Vidu. Sandhya Bhat (vocal), Vid. D.N. Indrakumar (harmonium) and Vid. Ramesh Dannur on tabla; 10.45 am: Vidu. Pruthvi Bhaskar (vocal), Vid. N.A. Amogh (violin) and Vid. A. Radhesh (mridanga); 11.30 am: Saint Thyagaraja’s Pancharatna Kritis by musicians of Mysuru.
