Postal Pincodes changed

Citizens may take note while applying for ration card, voter’s ID, DL and Passport.

Some pincodes in Mysuru have changed and residents may take note of it when they apply for documents including ration cards, voter’s ID card, driving licence and passports as old pincodes will no longer be valid.

Opening of new Post Offices for some areas had prompted the Postal Department to change the pincodes. Two Post Offices, in K.R. Mohalla and Mandi Mohalla, were converted into ‘Non-Delivery’ Post Offices. K.R. Mohalla has been merged with Lakshmipuram and Mandi Mohalla has been merged with Mysuru Head Post Office. Ramakrishnanagar that was earlier served by Kuvempunagar Post Office, has been given a new one and a new Post Office has been opened at J.P. Nagar.

Changes in pincode

The following areas will have pincode 570031: Mahadevapura A, B and C Block, Rajkumar Layout, Javarappa Layout, Vastava Enclave, Kumara Thota Layout, Muniswamy Nagar, JNNURM building, old and new NH Palya, Venkateshwara Layout, Judges Colony, Bhavani Layout, Vastava Layout, Navodaya Layout, JSS Layout, BTA Layout, Srinagar A, B and C Block, BEML Layout, KSRTC Layout, Siddalingeshwara Layout, JP Nagar 2nd Stage, Omkar Layout, Koppaluru B Zone, J.P. Nagar A,B,C, D, E, F blocks, Ratna Gardenia, Lake View Point and Ashraya Yojana houses.

The following areas will have pincode 570001: Mandi Mohalla, Lashkar Mohalla, Pulakeshi Road, K.T. Street, Tilak Nagar, Mission Hospital Road, Sayyaji Rao Road, Kabir Road, Akbar Road, Lions Bhavan Road, Bamboo Bazaar, Soppinakeri, Uppinakeri, Kamatagiri, Sajjad Street, B.N. Road, Sade Road, Tilaknagar, Srinivasa Temple Road, Sultan Park Road, Rasal Khan Street, RMC Street, K.R. Hospital, Ashoka Road, Halladakeri, Chandragupta Road, Harsha Road, Bengaluru-Nilgiri Road, Irwin Road, Geetha Mandir Road, Dawood Khan Street, Veeranagere, Kurubarageri, KRH Road, Gandhi Square, Doddavokkalageri, B.N. Street, Mysore Palace, K.R. Circle, Devaraj Urs Road, Shivarampet, Dewan’s Road, Agrahara, Makkaji Chowk, Sait Galli, Kabir Road, Sunnika Chowk, Gadi Karkane area.

Areas included in the Lakshmipuram Post Office  (570004) are: Sita Vilas Road, Siddappa Square, Kalinga Market, parts of K.R. Circle and Devaraj Urs Road.

Hinkal Ring Road, Vijayanagar 3rd stage, Vijayanagar A,B, C blocks, Basavaraja Circle, Chip Board Colony are included in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage Post Office (570030).

Ramakrishnanagar A, B, E and F blocks, R.T. Nagar, Sharadadevi Nagar, Vasu Layout, Nivedithanagar and Anandanagar have been included in the Ramakrishnanagar Post Office (570022).
