Mysuru: Talukina Venkannaiah Smaraka Grantamale and Kannada Sahitya Kalakoota together had organised a function at Maneyangala in Kalamandira premises here recently for the release of the book ‘Mooru Ranga Roopantharagalu’ written by B.R.Lakshmanrao.
Releasing the book, retired English Professor of Mysore University Dr.D.A. Shankar opined that translation and adaptation should be done appropriately keeping the core theme intact and should provide additional information to draw the attention of the readers. He further said that translations should blend with todays cultural scenario and the writer should introspect at every stage.
Speaking on the occasion, former Rangayana Director H. Janardhan observed that when urbanisation was pushing mankind into a concrete jungle, books with valuable translations would indeed be very refreshing for the stressed mind. Referring to the book of Lakshmanrao he complimented the author in excellently portraying how undue and irrational suspicion could harm a person.
Kadamba Ranga Vedike President Rajashekar Kadamba, Writer B.R. Lakshmanrao, Publisher T.S. Chayapathi, Kalakoota President M. Chandrashekar and others were present.
