Mysuru: District in-Charge Minister G.T. Devegowda (GTD) has come up with a novel idea to keep the city clean by motivating the citizens to click the photos of people who dump garbage in the parks and on roads and bag a prize of Rs.1,000.
GTD was on inspection of parks at Dattagalli Extension yesterday, organised by the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC). He found that there was confusion about which park came under the Corporation and which under the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
He asked the officials present to make a list of the parks maintained by both the MCC and MUDA and put up the boards to that effect. He also found the places littered with garbage and when he saw this, he immediately told the officials to announce that people who capture the act of dumping garbage will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs.1,000.
The Minister also asked the officers to file criminal cases against those who are caught dumping garbage.
He called for the development of all the parks in the vicinity by planting saplings and keeping them clean.

what happens when the safaiwalas go on strike or take leave. in the month of november it happened twice because of strike.
What about the corporation officials slacking off their duties?? In Hinkal the staff who are in-charge of collecting garbage hardly show up. They have their own schedule of visiting once in 2-3 days. We need ministers who can think of comprehensive solutions,
1. Evaluating why the garbage is being thrown in the first place.
2. Ensuring the MCC/respective authorities taken measures to collect garbage everyday.
3. Having a monitoring mechanism for point number 2
4. Making it easy for public to raise complaint in transparent manner if point 2&3 fail.
I can go on listing but whatever, go on, click photos, earn money.
very rightly said sir, we do not know whom to complain to for non appearance of these workers, even if they do come, they come at different times each day. these people only pass orders without finding facts.

The daily collecting of garbage and monitoring is not happening in most of the areas of Rajive Nagar as well.
The steps taken is good enough when the MCC workers who picks up the garbage at home make there visits regularly. My area roads and drainages are filled with trash as there is no proper garbage collection visit and routine.we end up waiting for weeks and throw them outside not that we want to as it makes us feel bad for creating that environment for ourself. One suggestion kindly provide a helpline number for these issues. It’s difficult to track down one person to solve the issue.
