Mysuru: A man, who had taken a car on rent from a cab service operator, has fled with the car after hoodwinking the driver in city.
Immanuel Sachin is the driver who lost his car. On Aug.3 at about 7.30 pm, the miscreant, who had booked the Swift Dezire car (KA-09 C-9294) in the name of Arjun, boarded the car on Harsha Road and told the driver to go to Darasanaguppe village near Srirangapatna.
After reaching the main road near Darasanaguppe village, driver Immanuel told the miscreant that he cannot take him inside the village as the service is limited only to the main road. The miscreant then told Immanuel to go back to Mysuru and told the driver to go near the second unit of Prem Industries.
The miscreant then got down from the car and spoke to the security guard for some time and returned. He then told the driver to speak to the security guard as he (security guard) was not giving him proper information.
Immanuel then got down from the car leaving his mobile phone, Rs.10,000 cash and the car keys in the car and went near the security guard. The miscreant, making used of the opportunity, started the car and fled from the spot. Immanuel has lodged a complaint at Vijayanagar Police Station.
