Mysuru: The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has imposed a penalty of Rs.8,000 on the Postal Department for the failure in delivering money order of Rs. 500 on time.
The forum has ordered a penalty against Senior Superintendent of Posts and Chamundipuram Post Office Sub-Post Master.
Bhyraiah of Vidyaranyapuram had sent Rs. 500 through electronic money order on July 18, 2018, to his granddaughter, who was studying in Bengaluru. However, the money order did not reach her even after 12 days.
