Mysore/Mysuru: With the Government planning to implement e-office concept in all its departments from April 1 this year, the Department of Public Instruction, in association with Ministerial Staff, Vehicle Drivers and Group-D Employees Association, Mysuru Division, held a day-long training workshop on online services for its non-teaching staff of Mysuru Revenue Division at Kalamandira on Hunsur Road today.

Speaking after inaugurating the workshop, K.J. Rajendra, Divisional Secretary and Joint Director of Public Instruction, Mysuru Division, said that the non-teaching staff, who include clerks, vehicle drivers and D-Group employees play a key role in governance of the Department. Highlighting the role of the staff in taking governance to the common man, he said that the Government is in the process of making all its   office paperless starting from April 1 this year.

Explaining the concept of e-office and K2 services, Rajendra said that K2 facilitates acceptance of remittances from citizens at their departmental counters to render services to its users. Emphasising on the need to have a perfect co-ordination between all levels of staff for effective, efficient and transparent delivery of services, he said that e-office aims to support governance by ushering in more effective and transparent inter and Intra-Government processes.

Maintaining that the vision of e-office, which comprises online services is to achieve a simplified, responsive, effective and transparent working of Government Offices, Rajendra said that employees must note that the success of governance depends on the involvement of all sections of employees. In this backdrop, this workshop is key in readying the employees for digitalization era in Government offices. He called upon the employees to make best use of this workshop. Rajendra also released a handbook on Government online services on the occasion.

Karnataka Government Employees Association State President C.S. Shadakshari and  President of Karnataka State Ministerial Employees Association President Harinakshi were the guests of Honour. Mysuru District Ministerial staff Association President M.K. Swami presided.

Principal of College of Teacher Training at Mysuru H.N. Geethamba, faculty Purushotham, Mysuru DIET Principal K. Mahadevappa, Chamarajanagar DDPI  S.T. Javaregowda and other officials were present.

More than 1,200 non-teaching staff from Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Mandya, Hassan, Chikkamagalur, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts attended the workshop.
