Mysuru: Have you ever heard of a cow yielding milk without its calf? A cow in Varuna Constituency is giving milk without becoming pregnant and delivering a calf and is drawing hundreds of curious visitors.

The cow is owned by Mari-swamy and Kempamma of Sajjehundi village and it has been giving good quality milk since a fortnight. And for the villagers, it is a miracle and hundreds of them are coming to Mariswamy’s house to have a glimpse of the cow.

According to Mariswamy, the cow gives one-and-a-half litre of milk daily in the morning and evening. He said that some villagers spotted milk dripping from its udders a fortnight back. “The villagers informed me about this and as per their suggestion, I started milking the cow,” he said.

Mariswamy later took the milk samples to the nearby dairy where it was certified that the milk was of good quality. The milk has good fat content and according to the dairy staff, the milk was far better than the quality of milk brought there by other villagers.

Hearing about the mystery, some veterinary doctors have visited Sajjehundi village and have examined the cow.
