City’s sisters shine in swimming

Mysuru: Two sisters from Mysuru have proved that age has no barriers for achievement.

Dr. Anya Saini, a Paediatrician and her sister Nima Manjrekar, a wildlife biologist, have won a total of seven medals including six gold and a silver medal at the recently held 20th Masters Swimming Championship in Bhopal.

The 61-year-old Dr. Anya Saini got four gold medals  (in 50 mts & 100 mts breaststroke; 200 mts and 400 mts freestyle events) in the 60-64 age category while 58-year-old Nima Manjrekar, who is also a part of English Theatre apart from working as a wildlife biologist, won three medals including two gold (in 50 mts & 100 mts breaststroke and silver in 50 mts freestyle) in the 55-59 year age category.
