A.S. Nagaraju, former Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director at Madikeri, former In-charge Registrar of Kodava Sahitya Academy and a resident of Ramakrishnagar in city, passed away yesterday night.

He was also the member of Mysuru District Kannada Jagruthi Samithi and had served as the Registrar of Karnataka Nataka Academy. After retiring from service, he was actively taking part in theatre activities.

A native of Akkihebbal village of K.R. Pet taluk in Mandya district, he leaves behind one son, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at K.G. Koppal Burial Grounds this afternoon.
