Organisation seeks action against hospital for youth’s death
Mysore/Mysuru: Holding the doctors of a private hospital in city responsible for the death of a youth due to alleged overdose of anaesthesia, Harihara Anandaswamy, head of Karnataka Dalita Chaluvali Navanirmana Vedike, has sought action against the Hospital.
Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday morning, Anandaswamy said that N.C. Swagath (25), the deceased youth and a resident of Naganahalli village in Periyapatna taluk, was admitted to the private hospital for a minor surgery following a fracture to his left hand.
He alleged that Swagath was administered with an overdose of anaesthesia at the hospital, following which Swagath went into coma. He was then shifted to another private hospital, where he passed away the following day.
Urging for action against the Hospital, failing which Anandaswamy warned of staging protest against the Hospital besides informing that a complaint has been lodged against the Hospital at Saraswathipuram Police Station.
Deceased Swagath’s family member N.S. Chandraiah, Vedike’s D. Kumar, T. Eeraiah, Sigoru Vijayakumar, H.D. Ramesh, Jayaswamy and others were present at the press meet.
