Mysore/Mysuru: In a significant initiative to bring a large number of workers under the ambit of organised social security through EPF, the Government of India has announced Employees’ Enrolment Campaign (EEC) 2025. The scheme shall be operational from Nov. 1, 2025 to April 30, 2026.
This campaign is intended to encourage employers, both already registered and those newly coming under the purview of the EPF Act, 1952, to voluntarily declare and enrol eligible employees.
Employers can enrol all existing employees, who joined the establishment between July 1, 2017 and Oct. 31, 2025 and who are alive and employed on the date of the declaration, but were not enrolled in the EPF scheme earlier due to any reason, whatsoever.
A major relief under EEC 2025 is the waiver of the employee’s share of PF contributions for the entire past period, provided it was not deducted from wages. Employers need to pay only their own share.
Employers availing this scheme shall be liable to pay a nominal penal damage of Rs. 100 only as a lump sum, a significant reduction from the standard penalties for non-compliance.
All establishments are eligible to participate, including those with ongoing inquiries under 7A of the EPF Act. No suo moto action will be initiated by EPFO for employees who have left the establishment before the declaration date.
Employers declaring employees under EEC 2025 will also be eligible for benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PMVBRY) subject to conditions. Declarations must be filed online through the facility provided by EPFO in the Employer Login, indicating employee details and linking them to the relevant Electronic Challan-cum-Return.
The Government expects EEC 2025 to significantly expand social security coverage and help employers regularise past records with minimal financial or legal burden.
Vinit Kumar, Regional PF Commissioner-I, Regional Office, Mysuru, has in a press release appealed all employers to come forward and avail one-time benefits under EEC 2025 and participate in nation-building by facilitating EPFO to extend social security to the workforce.
