Mysuru:  JSS Mahavidyapeetha has organised a programme at Sri Rajendra Bhavan in JSS Hospital premises at 6 pm tomorrow (Sept.28) for awards presentation, book release and inauguration of JSS Physiotherapy and Rejuvenation Centre.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion. Higher Education Minister G.T. Devegowda will preside.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Shivananda S. Patil will inaugurate JSS Physiotherapy and Rejuvenation Centre and present awards — Vachana Chitrarachana Pithamaha M. Veerappa Endowment Award and Kala Guru D.V. Halbhavi Award. MLA S.A. Ramdas will release the book ‘Sri Padakke Namo Namo’ edited by Dr. Nandeesh Hanche. Former Chairman of Lalithakala Academy Dr. M.S. Murthy will speak about the book and the awardees.

Veerappa Endowment Award recipients: Artist from Sirsi G.M. Hegde (2017) and Mysuru artist R. Puttaraju (2018). The award carries a cash prize of Rs.68,000, a citation and a memento.

Kala Guru D.V. Halbhavi Award recipients: Karnataka Lalithakala Academy Chairperson Prof. M.J. Kamalakshi (2017) and Dharwad’s Rashtriya Drishya Kala Academy Chairman Dr. S.C. Patil (2018).The award carries a cash prize of Rs.10,000, a citation and a memento.
