Ban on plastic and paper flags

Independence Day will be celebrated at Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap here on Aug. 15. The Deputy Commissioner (DC), in a press release, has appealed people to use Flags made of cloths and not Flags made out of plastic or paper.

Stating that Flags made out of plastic/paper is not a proper way of showing respect towards the National Flag and hence, Flags made of cloths must be used, the DC has also asked traders not to sell plastic and paper Flags.
