Mysuru: With Dasara-2024 festivities scheduled to take place in Mysuru from Oct. 3 to Oct. 12, the Tourism Department has launched a promotional campaign through the ‘Discover Mysuru’ initiative, focusing on social media.
As part of this initiative, 15 prominent bloggers and influencers arrived in Mysuru this morning for a four-day ‘Bloggers Meet,’ starting today. The goal is to highlight Mysuru’s rich cultural heritage and boost tourism.
Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and the Karnataka State Tourism Department, the ‘Bloggers Meet’ aims to leverage Mysuru’s attractions and the Dasara celebrations to draw more visitors.
The group of bloggers, content creators, tourism ambassadors, reel-makers and travel vloggers — all with substantial followings— hail from New Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Telangana.
Upon arriving from Bengaluru, the team was received on the Outer Ring Road by Tourism Department Assistant Director Prabhuswamy and taken to the Srikanteshwaraswamy Temple at Nanjangud. Temple Executive Officer Jagadeesh led them through the heritage site located on the banks of the Kapila River.
After their visit to Nanjangud, the team will head to the Bandipur Tiger Reserve in the afternoon. Tomorrow, the team will visit Somanathapura, which features the 13th-century Keshava Temple, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site alongside the Chennakeshava Temple at Belur and the Hoysaleswara Temple at Halebeedu.
In the afternoon, they will visit the Jaganmohan Art Gallery and the rosewood inlay workshop in Mysuru. On Sept. 13, the bloggers will explore Sri Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill, the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation Limited’s silk factory and take a ride in tongas before visiting the Mysore Palace.
At the Palace, the team will meet Mysuru-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar.
On Sept. 14, they will explore St. Philomena’s Church and embark on a walking tour of the century-old Devaraja Market.
