Burglars decamp with Rs. 7 lakh cash, gold ornaments from locked house

Mysore/Mysuru: Burglars, who broke into a house, have decamped with Rs. 7 lakh cash and gold ornaments.

The burglary took place at the house of R.A. Tejas Patel in Hebbal 1st Stage.

Tejas, a resident of Bengaluru, owned a house in Hebbal 1st Stage here and used to come frequently. His elder sister Divya is working as a Pharmacist at Gerasanahalli in Hunsur taluk and was residing there. She too used to frequent the Hebbal house where the family had kept their cash and gold ornaments.

On July 10, Tejas’ mother Susheela and sister Divya had visited the Hebbal house.

On July 18, neighbour Geetha called Tejas over phone and informed him that the front door was open. Tejas, who came to the Hebbal house, saw that the inner lock of the door was broken and on inspecting the house, he found 56 grams gold ornaments and Rs. 7 lakh cash, which was kept in the almirah, stolen and lodged a complaint at Hebbal Police Station.
