Car gutted at Vontikoppal

December 29, 2024

Mysuru: A parked car was completely gutted in a fire on the 3rd Main Road in Vontikoppal yesterday afternoon.

The car (KA-09-ME-9373) belonged to one Vibha Suresh of Dattagalli. Vibha, an employee of a private company in Bengaluru, who had come to a hotel along with her friend on the 3rd Main Road at about 1.40 pm yesterday, had parked the car in front of the hotel.

While she was having her lunch, fire broke out in the car and the efforts of passerby to extinguish the fire went in vain. Saraswathipuram Fire Station personnel, who rushed to the spot, managed to douse the fire. However, the fire had destroyed the car completely by then. Eyewitnesses said that someone had spilled red hot coal and the car was parked over it resulting in the car catching fire.

VV Puram Police, who reached the spot, conducted mahazar and have registered a case.
