Cauvery Multispeciality Hospital conducts CME and BCLS training workshop

Mysuru:  A one-day CME and skill development workshop titled REViVE 2021 on Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BCLS) was conducted recently for the paramedical and allied health staff in Cauvery Institute of Allied Health Sciences in association with Indian Association of Anaesthesiologists, Mysore Branch.

Around 100 participants from different hospitals benefited from the course. Faculty members from Cauvery Heart and Multispeciality Hospital and JSS Medical College conducted the workshop under the aegis of Indian Resuscitation Council.

A renovated skill lab with 8 different modules including ICU module, Operation Theatre module, CPR modules, Paediatric and AED modules was inaugurated in connection with the event.

Inaugurating the workshop and skill lab, MUDA Chairman H.V. Rajeev stressed on the need for enhanced skill development in view of rapidly changing technologies in healthcare and called upon all present to deliver their services with a humane touch. He also lauded the services of Cauvery Heart and Multispeciality Hospital and Group of institutions.

DHO Dr. Prasad, who was the guest of honour, reiterated the challenges faced by healthcare fraternity in the huge skill gap and called upon the organisers to conduct more such programmes and partner with Government institutions.

Dr. Chandrashekar, Cauvery Hospital Chairman, lauded the services of all healthcare workers during Covid pandemic.

Vaidyanathan, Organising Secretary and Secretary of ISA Mysore City Branch, Dr. Sarala Chandrashekar, MD, Cauvery Group of Institutions, Dr. Usha Levi, President of ISA Mysore City Branch, Dr. Aravind, Surgeon and Principal Allied Health Sciences, Gurkar, Dean, Cauvery Institute of Allied Health Sciences, B.J. Sandeep Patel, Facility Director, Principals, staff and others were present.

Incidentally, Cauvery Heart and Multispeciality Hospital is the only Hospital in Mysuru recognised under Indian Resuscitation Council to train and certify people on resuscitation through its courses.

It trains lay rescuers and general public on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) free of cost and issues certificates. Till now more than 70 such programmes have been conducted.
