Centre influences Judiciary: Dr. Yathindra

November 14, 2024

H.D. Kote: MLC Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah has sparked controversy by accusing the Central Government of misusing investigative agencies.

He alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Income Tax (IT) Departments have been reduced to mere instruments under the Central Government’s control.

Dr. Yathindra further claimed that even the Judiciary is influenced by the Central Government. “Now a days, even the Judiciary listens to Centre,” he said.

Speaking at an event in H.D. Kote, he suggested that there was a deliberate attempt to falsely implicate his father Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

“We are not afraid of investigations, but when there is no accountability, it becomes their game,” he stated, expressing concerns that this misuse is undermining democracy. He warned that continued actions of this nature by the BJP-led Central Government could endanger democratic principles.

Dr. Yathindra highlighted that numerous allegations against BJP leaders have gone uninvestigated, pointing to selective action by Central agencies acting on Government orders.

He reaffirmed his family’s commitment to face any challenges legally and called on the public to reject such tactics.

He stressed the importance of public support for the Congress Government, which, he            claimed, prioritised the welfare of the underprivileged.
