Mysore/Mysuru: With Dish TV and other cable network operators found to have unauthorisedly tied or drawn their cables from CESC (Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation) electric poles along roadsides and interior places, the CESC has asked the cable operators to immediately remove such cables as a public safety measure.
In a press release, CESC authorities said that it has also been found that some authorised operators have drawn cables in an unscientific or improper manner, which has led to electric mishaps. As such, the cable operators alone will be held responsible if any electric mishaps occur due to faulty or improper cable drawing.
Although the CESC had warned the cable operators to remove or rectify cable drawing from electric poles through repeated press releases, the operators are yet to address the issue. Following this, the CESC has once again asked the cable operators to carry out a pole inventory and draw cables only as specified in the sanction order issued by CESC.
The operators are instructed to address the issue in a week. Also such cable operators who have unauthorisedly used electric poles to serve their purpose, have been asked to get sanction letters by payment of the stipulated fee, failing which the CESC will launch a drive for removing unauthorised cables without any prior notice, the release said.
