Mysuru: CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), the premier food research laboratory under Ministry of Science & Technology, in association with Kautilya Entrepreneurship & Management Institute has announced a joint programme to encourage and promote start-ups in the food processing sector.
The Institute has been offering short-term training programmes throughout the year which are generally of 5-day duration on various aspects of food processing and technologies. Details are available in the Institute website, www.cftri.com.
The course which is scheduled between June 5 -16 and entitled as ‘Entrepreneurial opportunities in food and allied sectors’ has been designed to address both the technologies and entrepreneurship part for enabling successful ventures in the area of food processing.
First week of the programme will be held at CFTRI campus in Mysuru and the later component at Jain University Campus.
The programme will focus on the technologies on Ready-to-Eat Foods, Natural beverages, Superfoods, Healthy Snacks, Minimally processed vegetables, FSSAI regulations and so on. More details are available at www.cftri.com.
Prof. Ram Rajasekharan, Director CSIR-CFTRI, has stated in a press release that the new initiative is in line with the Start-up India and Skill India Missions of Government of India, and can cater to the needs of the various stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, MSME, exporters, food parks and Cold chain participants. This collaboration of the technology leader with management experts will be able to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the sunrise sector contributing 14% of the manufacturing GDP of the country.
This programme is open for aspiring entrepreneurs and early stage entrepreneurs, focusing on opportunities in the food sector.
