Bengaluru: Noted Bengaluru-based cartoonist B.V. Panduranga Rao has been awarded the prestigious ‘Honourable Mention Award’ at the First International Exhibition of Sports Humour, China 2022.

His cartoon is selected as Excellence Works and he will be presented with a certificate, memento and the prize amount of RMB 2000 (Rs. 23,000 approximately).

His prized cartoon will be on display among other selected cartoons in the exhibition to be held in Binjiang during the 19th Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou. His cartoon will also be published in an album to be printed by the organisers.

In all, 3,000 cartoons from 36 countries were submitted in this contest. Only 30 cartoonists were awarded Excellence Works Award.

A video clip with the introduction of Panduranga Rao with his prized cartoon will be shown at the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition.
