Mysuru: As part of the ongoing Chinnara Mela summer camp organised by Rangayana, Chinnara Mela Natakotsava will be held at Vanaranga in Rangayana premises from May 5 to 9.
B.V. Karanth Award-2016 recipient Srinivasa G. Kappanna will inaugurate the Natakotsava at 5 pm today. Kannada and Culture Department Director K.A. Dayanand will preside.
The following plays will be staged at 6.30 pm everyday from May 5 to 9:
May 5: ‘Kappu Kageya Haadu’ by Natyarani Shantala team and ‘Geletana’ by Kalaratna Gubbi Veeranna team.
May 6: ‘Somari Thimma’ by Amarashilpi Jakanachari team and ‘Hu Thota’ by Santa Shishunala Sharifa team.
May 7: ‘Navellaru Onde’ by Pt. Mallikarjuna Mansur team and ‘Kuhu Kuhu Kogile’ by Peetilu Chowdaiah troupe.
May 8: ‘Ondanondu Kaladalli’ by Ravi Verma team and ‘Gudu Bitta Hakki’ by Daana Chintamani Attimabbe team.
May 9: ‘Kasa Gudisuva Kayakada Satyakka’ by Parti Subba team and ‘Devaru Yelliddanamma’ by Kamsale Mahadevaiah’s troupe.
Valedictory
‘Santhe’ will be held from 10 am to 2 pm and the valedictory will be held at 5 pm on May 10.
Music University VC Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar will deliver the valedictory address. Child artiste Siri Vanalli will be the chief guest. K.A. Dayanand will preside. The camp will conclude with children playing the Okuli (splashing colours).
