Mysore/Mysuru: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mysuru TQM Forum Team recently visited Schneider Electric Plant in Mysuru. Schneider Electric is a multinational company specialising in electrical equipment, energy management and automation solutions.

The Metering and Protection Systems Business Unit (MPS) of Schneider Electric is a market leader in the field of energy metering in India. The business unit has world class research, testing and manufacturing facility.
MPS is involved in the business of design, engineering, procurement, manufacture and sale of 1 phase and 3 phase energy meters, including smart meters and prepaid meters.
The company has over 27 years of metering expertise with their customer base being spread across all Electricity Utility Companies in India. MPS has a manufacturing facility capable of making over 17 million meters per annum in Mysuru. MPS is a market leader in the metering segment and has supplied over 70 million meters till date.
MPS has received the CII Southern Region 5S Excellence Award for Lean manufacturing practices. The CII – 25th Edition of TQM Forum is an industry group that spread TQM philosophy across industries by sharing industry best practices and providing training to its members on the latest technologies.
As part of this, a TQM visit was arranged for the CII, Mysuru members to Schneider Electric’s Mysuru Plant. Schneider Electric demonstrated their solutions using IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, LEAN and digitisation initiatives in their world class manufacturing facility for Smart Meters. 40 members across various industries of Mysuru were part of this visit.
