City’s Naavu Folk-Fusion Band receives KiMA Award

Mysuru:  The Soldier song “Naavu – A tribute to our real heroes,” composed by city-based Folk-Fusion Band Naavu, has bagged Kannada International Music Academy (KiMA) Award in Best Music Video (New Age Music Awards) category. The award was presented to the  team at an event held at Bengaluru on Jan.20.

The song was released online [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djhnDX7NU6g] to mark Independence Day celebrations in 2017 and had received wide appreciation.

S. Shekar has directed and edited the video; Lyrics is by Pragatha Mohan; Naavu Band members: Sundaresh Devapriyam aka Munna (guitar), Shalom Sannutha (vocals), Shruthi Ranjani (violinist), Shreekanta Swamy (drums), S.S. Rohith (bass guitarist), Anush A. Shetty (tabla) and Emil (keyboard).

The Band became well-known with its song ‘Jumboo Savari’ that was released during  Dasara-2016.
