Mysore/Mysuru: Vidushi Dr. M.A. Jyothi of Mysuru will present a classical vocal concert at 6 pm on Oct. 12 (Thursday) at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Adichunchanagiri Road, Kuvempunagar, under the auspices of Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust.
She will be accompanied on violin by Vidu. C.V. Shruthi, disciple of Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy and Akkarai Sisters, while disciples of Vid. Tumkuru B. Ravishankar, Vid. Vikram Bharadwaj and Vid. S. Dasappa will support on mridanga and morching respectively.
Artistes’ Profile: Hailing from an illustrious family, Vidu. Jyothi had her training in music by her mother, Vidu. Neeraja Achuta Rao, daughter of well-known Sanskrit scholar, writer and vaggeyakara, H. Yoganarasimham and advanced guidance by Vidu. Dr. Sukanya Prabhakar and Vidu. Neela Ramgopal. Jyothi is also proficient in playing violin, which she learnt from Kalaimamani M.N. Ganesha Pillai of Neyveli, Mysuru Mahadevappa and legendary violinist, Lalgudi Jayaraman.
She is a graded artiste of AIR and holds a Master’s degree and Ph.D in Education.
Jyothi is a multi-faceted talent and has brought out several musical albums, published and presented many papers and is associated with SPICMACAY in organising programmes.
