Clear this hazardous tree at N.R. Mohalla

April 4, 2025

Sir,

Despite multiple applications submitted to the MCC requesting action on a tree that poses a serious hazard to the public and nearby residents, no steps have been taken. The tree has now begun leaning to one side, and strong winds could cause it to fall, potentially resulting in significant damage.

The hazardous tree is located near 5th West Cross, Abul Kalam Azad Road, N.R. Mohalla.  It appears that unless someone is injured or electrocuted, no government body is willing to intervene. Live electric wires are in direct contact with the tree, further increasing the risk.

The situation demands immediate attention, yet MCC and the Forest Department seem indifferent, acting only when either bribes are given or when an unfortunate incident — such as loss of life or property damage — occurs. Authorities must act swiftly to prevent a potential disaster.
