Mysore/Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM) celebrated its centennial, marking 100 years of excellence in research and education and launched a Google Cloud Centre for Excellence recently.
The global career landscape is changing and technology and data are reshaping our world and how we interact with one another. This explosion of information is opening new opportunities for study and application.
With a commitment to excellence in education and passion to make a difference to students’ learning, UoM Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar has been leading transformative changes and one such is to transform the career support services provided to students, alumni of the University and all its 220 affiliate Colleges and to better equip them for jobs or to start their own ventures.
As a step towards this, the University has entered into a strategic partnership with Google Cloud to give its students a head-start. The Google Cloud Centre of Excellence will provide students with access to technology and services to learn more about Google Cloud.
This Centre of Excellence will run two flagship programmes — ‘Google Cloud Career Readiness’ and ‘Google Cloud Computing Foundation’. To prepare students for cloud careers in business and technical domains related to cloud infrastructure, application development, Big Data and machine learning, the Google Cloud Career Readiness programme will offer the following:
Associate Cloud Engineer track: Ideal for students aspiring to launch careers in engineering and management roles related to cloud infrastructure, cloud-native application development and data engineering.
Data Analyst track: Ideal for students keen on pursuing careers in data analytics, business intelligence and management.
