Pointing out that unemployment will increase in the absence of skills, he said that the Government was training 5 lakh youths every year on skill development.

Explaining the initiatives of his Government for enhancing the employability of passing out students, Siddharamaiah said that the Government was distributing laptops to students to make them nationally and internationally competent.

Stating that most students aspire to become only doctors and engineers, Siddharamaiah bemoaned that there were only a handful of students who would say they want to become a teacher, scientist or a nurse.
