Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddharamaiah yesterday launched the CM’s One Lakh Housing Scheme in Bengaluru, to which people can apply for subsidised housing till Jan.5, 2018.
Speaking on the occasion, Siddharamaiah said the scheme aims to build and distribute one lakh houses for the poor and homeless in the city each year.
Pointing out that the houses will be built on 1,200 acres of Government land, he said that the beneficiaries should have an annual income limit of not more then 87,000. The Government will provide housing for those who don’t have a home in Bengaluru and have been residing in the city for past five years. While SC/ST beneficiaries will receive a subsidy of Rs.3.5 lakh each, the general category beneficiaries will get a subsidy of Rs.2.7 lakh for each house allotted.
The allotment will be done through lottery for 75,000 houses, with the remaining 25,000 to be kept as reserve for more deserving beneficiaries, Siddharamaiah said and added that the scheme will not be a one time scheme and is likely to be continued as part of Government policy.
The CM further said that the applications can be filed at BangaloreOne centres.
