Mysore/Mysuru: Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Organisation’s District Unit Legal Advisor Hemanth Kumar has urged the Police to put brakes on partying in isolated places and birthday celebrations on the middle of roads during nights to prevent rapes and other crime incidents in city.
Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Hemanth Kumar said that the recent dacoity and rape cases had shocked the people of the State and added that steps should be taken to prevent such incidents from taking place in future.
Pointing out that night patrolling by Police should be intensified, Hemanth said that vacant sites, empty spaces, road sides and deserted places had become drunkards’ den and added that consumption of liquor in public places during nights by anti-social elements had become common, which were leading to criminal activities. He urged the Police to identify spots and places where illegal partying take place and intensify patrolling in these places and its surroundings and take legal action against those indulging in such activities.
District Unit President Karthik Gowda, who too spoke, lauded the efforts of City Police in nabbing the accused in dacoity and rape cases and urged the Police to prevent such incidents from taking place in future.
