D.V. Halabhavi award for Prakash Gadkar

Mysore/Mysuru: Renowned artist Prakash Gadkar has been selected for the prestigious D.V. Halabhavi award (2022) instituted by the city’s JSS Mahavidyapeetha, in association with Bellad Education and Agriculture Foundation, Dharwad, in memory of renowned artist Kalaguru D.V. Halabhavi.

Prakash Gadkar was born on June 1,1962 to late Husanaiah and Gangubai couple. Having keen interest in art right from his childhood days, Gadkar grew into a complete artist. He served as the Principal of Kalaburagi-based The Ideal Fine Arts Institute and College of Visual Arts. He has organised solo art expo and also along with his troupe at Kalaburagi, Dharwad, Mysuru, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Pondicherry, Madras, Delhi etc.

A Karnataka Lalitakala Academy awardee, Prakash Gadkar is now being honoured with Halabhavi award, in recognition of his service to art.  For details, call Ph: 0821- 2548207 or 2548212.
