Mysuru: At a time when human values and social harmony are noticeably declining in society, there is an urgent need to nurture and revive these essential qualities before they wither away.
With this realisation, a group of compassionate and like-minded youths, who deeply care for and love their society, initiated the HEARt Organisation.
One of its key initiatives is the annual programme called Daanotsava (Festival of Giving).
Every year, Daanotsava is conducted in the month of June by selecting a school and it is held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Rajarshi Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.
This year, the event is scheduled for June 12 at 11 am at Mysore International School. On this day, students will voluntarily donate rice or essential groceries according to their capacity. The collected items will be handed over to a recognised Ashram in the presence of students.
This initiative not only encourages children to share a portion of their resources with the less fortunate — such as orphans, the destitute and the homeless — but also inspires them to lead a meaningful life. Moreover, it becomes a source of inspiration for building a compassionate and harmonious society.
General public, parents, youths and students may participate in Daanotsava by donating at least 1 kg of rice or groceries.
