DPE DD Dr. P. Krishnaiah felicitated

Mysuru: Dr. P. Krishnaiah, Deputy Director (DD) of Department of Physical Education (DPE), University of Mysore (UoM), was felicitated on attaining superannuation from service, at Yoga Mandir in Sports Pavilion here recently.

In his address at the felicitation ceremony organised by the UoM DPE, Physical Education Directors and Association of Sports Lovers, Prof. M. Chandrakumar, a retired faculty of Department of Studies in Physical Education and Sports Sciences, said: “while it is common to face certain issues while selecting sports persons, it is the responsibility of Directors and Coaches to build a best team. Dr. P. Krishnaiah has set a model in this regard.”

Dr. P. Krishnaiah is the living example of how those who came up through difficulties in life, keep their head above, without succumbing to any pressure.

“He (Dr. P. Krishnaiah) has an impeccable mindset to take along all together and is a hard worker,” lauded Prof. Chandrakumar.

Team selection is a challenging task in the Department of Physical Education, but Dr. P. Krishnaiah has made honest efforts in this regard, bringing laurels to the University of Mysore, said Prof. Chandrakumar.

Department of Physical Education Director Dr. C. Venkatesh said, “Dr. P. Krishnaiah is a Sangha Jeevi (Social Man), who came from economically poor family and had to endure struggles in life.”

Mysore Athletics Club Secretary and International athlete M. Yogendra felicitated Dr. P. Krishnaiah and his wife Indira Krishnaiah.

Retired Prof. N.S. Subramanya from Department of Physical Education, Somani College, delivered the felicitation address.

T. Narasipur Government First Grade College Principal Dr. H.V. Udayshankar, Abhimani Balaga’s Bhaskar, Krishnappa, yoga teacher Palani and UoM Physical Education Teachers Tulsidas and Ravi, Coach G.R. Prabhakar, National-level athletes Gururaj, K. Umesh, Mahadevaiah, Sukumar and Shashidhar were present.
