Sir,
This is to bring to the notice of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) authorities concerned and the elected representatives about the ever-increasing menace of stray cattle on M.G. Road in the heart of the city.
The menace seems to be increasing day-by-day and at present almost 20-30 cattle are found at a time just between the small stretch from JSS Hospital to Mall of Mysore.
There is severe hindrance to the commuters on this road and I have myself seen a couple of minor accidents due to cattle suddenly coming in front of vehicles or due to vehicle needing a sudden turn because of cattle in front.
This is causing severe inconvenience to the commuters of this road. This problem only exacerbates in the evening time when office-goers are returning home and traffic also increases.
Nobody knows the owners of the cattle but it is a known fact that they are attracted to the vegetable garbage thrown unscientifically by the vendors on the M.G. Road vegetable market.
Foul stink of garbage and urine also emanates from this marketplace while travelling on this road which shows official apathy.
I request the MCC Commissioner, the local MLA and area Corporator (whose term has already ended) for urgent need to act on this issue and take appropriate steps to curb the menace of stray cattle and also maintain overall hygiene on this stretch of M.G. Road.
