Fly directly to Tirupati, Agatti in Lakshadweep from Mysuru soon

July 28, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: Very soon Mysureans can directly fly to Tirupati and bask in the sands of Agatti Islands in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep as the Mysore Airport authorities are finalising routes, pricing and packages for spiritual tourism and beach tourism.

Speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, Airport Director R. Manjunath said that there is a huge demand for a direct flight to Tirupati and Shirdi and spiritual tourism can be initiated. “We just finished talks with IndiGo to operate flights to Tirupati as there is a great demand and we are discussing the pricing and occupancy rates as per the specifications of the Centre’s flight schemes. Very soon, the Tirupati flight will be a reality along with a flight to Shirdi,” he said.

“In addition, the tourist destination of Agatti in Lakshadweep islands is also on our radar. At present, we have a connecting flight to Agatti and the response is good,” he added.

The connecting flight to Agatti is operating for the last 10 months and Air Alliance is the operator. It is a daily flight that links Bengaluru-Mysuru-Kochi and Agatti and the flight has not been listed in the Mysore Airport schedule as it is a connecting flight. “We are analysing the occupancy rates and will take a call on the direct flight from Mysuru to Agatti,” Manjunath added.

In addition, there is a definite plan to increase the flight frequency between Mysuru and Chennai as there is high demand. “The pandemic has eased and people have started travelling and even the tourist and spiritual destinations are teeming with visitors. At present, Mysuru is connected to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Goa, Kochi, Chennai and Hubballi and we are witnessing 70 to 80 percent occupancy,” the Airport Director added.

“Going forward, we are looking at connectivity to Kalaburagi, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, Mangaluru, Mumbai and even New Delhi. Also, Mysuru’s business community is seeking a direct flight to Ahmedabad. Many proposals will take wings after the expansion of the runway is completed where the runway will be extended from the existing 1,740 metres to 2,750 metres and widened from the present 30 metres to 45 metres,” Manjunath said.

Do Consider Flights to Ahmedabad, Madurai, Vizag, Jaipur, Indore, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Kolkata after airport expansion. Alliance Air can connect to these destinations under UDAN 5.0. The Newest Airline Akasa Air can connect Mysuru with Mumbai via Pune and New Delhi via Indore.
Mysuru’s Tourism Industry will see good times once the airport is expanded. Better Connectivity brings in more tourists.

The last thing Mysore wants is tourists in large numbers. Already this city is massively overpopulated. Chamundi hill is in the verge of crumbling. It will be a criminal desire to see thast this beautiful gets destroyed as its geological structure is heavily stressed as evidenced by the frequent land sliding. Tourists simply do not climb steps. They want their large tourist buses to take them near the Temple up in that Hill.
The airports exapansion taking medium haul jet liners, does not mean that simply connect cities in India. Already Narendra Modi has assured non-stop flights from the UAE to Mysore, as the UAE government wants this to happen when its collaborator in Israel-the electronic chip manufacturer are making plan to set up the electronic chip fabrication facility in Mysore.
The Keralite businessmen who are thriving well in the UAE ( many say, they are gold smugglers, looking at their richness) want this direct flight to the Mysore from UAE, and they are planning to bring more rich Sheikhs from there for holidays, and are demanding more 5 star hotels, night clubs etc.. Once this can of worms-the Mysore airport expansion is opened, it is very difficult to control the criminals from the Gulf States, mostly Muslims from Kerala creating their money laundering businesses in Mysore. The Hawala money channel is expanding very fast in the Mysore-Nanjangud-Wayanad corridor, and thanks your MP Simha, the Highway from Hassan-Kerala through Coorg is going to be built.
I was an engineering student in this city from Kerala, in 1950s, and knew what a wonderful clam city it was full of mango tress around this city in the dense forests, where we could see elephants wandering calmly, , with frequent sightings of a leopard. That city is destroyed for ever, thanks to people like you.
People like you are eco-system destroyers, wh will put an end to the Chamundi Hill for a start and will not rest until this once beautiful city is completely destroyed. Shame on your kind.

There is huge difference in the surrounding environment of Mysore just before 5 years and today. The peacefulness of Mysuru is being destroyed in the name of development..
