Mysuru: Jeev Daya Jain Charity (JDJC) with a mission to revive sparrow population, had organised a free distribution of Sparrow Houses, Bird Feeders and Bird Food at Kukkarahalli Lake here this morning.
About 200 Sparrow Houses (cardboard boxes with a bed straw), 80 feeder bottles and 80 packets of bird food (grains) were distributed.
Speaking on the occasion, JDJC Founder-President Kokila Ramesh Jain said that sparrow population has dwindled over the years which has to be revived as Sparrows are very close to mankind. She further said that the charity organisation had provided such Sparrow Houses to 15 houses in Gokulam and would provide soon in Bogadi, Srirampura and Vijayanagar after studying the environment there.
Vice-President Kavita Jeetendra Palrecha, Joint Secretary V.S. Santosh Jeetendra Ranka, Treasurer Pushpa Nirmal Loda and Advisor Lakshmi Ashoka were present.
