Mysore/Mysuru: The train from Mysuru to Kushalnagar will start from Belagola Station that is being expanded. With the station works to be completed in July, the trip to Kushalnagar is sure to be a reality once the tracks are laid.
The Ministry of Railways has estimated Rs.1,855 crore for the 87-km line between Belagola and Kushalnagar. The Centre has already granted Rs. 1,000 crore to the project and the allocation has been made in the Union Budget 2022-2023.
However, the project might meet stiff opposition from environmentalists in Kodagu who fear destruction of forests.
Here we go, linking Mysuru to more places. There is the Hassan-Kodagu-Kerala highways planned. Mysuru airport expanded to link more states, and countries such as Gulf states, Singapore etc.. 10 -lane highway to Bengaluru, the high speed train link to Chennai, all because , Mysuru and nearby towns and villages are perceived to be having more spaces worthy of more settlements by people in nearby states -Bengaluru is saturated ,hence this attempt. More factories and other enterprises arriving to ensure that Mysuru become as congested, as polluted and as expensive as Bengaluru. Then there is Wayanad road link which Keralites are asking to be expanded with multiple lane highway to Mysuru.
Then you will ask ‘Royal City’ ,what ‘Royal City’ Where is it? What happened to Kannada-speaking natives?
