Guest lecturers turn heat on Collegiate Education Department

Mysore/Mysuru: Guest lecturers from various Colleges staged a protest in the premises of Office of the Joint Director, Collegiate Education Department in the city yesterday.

The protesting lecturers, who raised slogans urging for the fulfilment of various demands said “About 12,000 guest lecturers are working in First Grade Colleges functioning under the jurisdiction of Collegiate Education Department.  Despite serving for the past several years, job security is eluding them till date. Several of those guest lecturers are close to their retirement age, but continue to serve in the interest of the students. The authorities concerned should take into cognisance the demands of guest lecturersand regularise the service at least now.”

President of Guest Lecturers Association G.V. Ramesh, Secretary Kempananjappa, Convener D. Nagaraj, leaders Hanumanthesh, Ashalatha and others took part in the protest.
