Bengaluru: A day after CM H.D. Kumaraswamy (HDK) said that he was obligated to the Congress, his father and JD(S) Supremo H.D. Deve Gowda yesterday defended his son’s remark that he (HDK) was at the mercy of Congress.
Speaking to press persons here, Deve Gowda came out in support of his son HDK who on Sunday said that he was indebted to the Congress and not to the people of Karnataka.
Pointing out that the JD(S) had only 37 MLAs and as such no unilateral decisions can be taken in the coalition Government, Deve Gowda said that the JD(S) has to consult its coalition partner, the Congress, while taking major announcements and policy decisions.
