Traffic congestion on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway, particularly on the Mysuru-bound stretch, as large numbers of people travelled to Mysuru and surrounding destinations during the extended Christmas and New Year holidays. Tourist footfall has increased not only in Mysuru but also in Madikeri and other nearby towns.
