Mysuru: A youth has been arrested by V.V. Puram Police on charges of getting the girl assaulted for refusing his love proposal.

The arrested youth is Amruth, an employee of a private firm. A native of Periyapatna, he was residing at Manchegowdanakoppal and used to harass the girl regularly to love him which the girl had refused.

On Dec. 4 at about 9.30 am, when the girl was walking near Chandrodaya Hospital in Vontikoppal to go to work, two youths who came on a bike slashed her face with a razor and fled from the spot.

In her complaint at V.V. Puram Police Station, the girl has stated that Amruth had sent his friends to assault her as she had rejected his love proposal and has urged the Police to take action.

V.V. Puram Police, based on the complaint, have arrested Amruth, who has been remanded to judicial custody and the Cops have launched a hunt to nab the two youths who assaulted her with the razor.
