Mysore/Mysuru:  As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Mysore Diocesan Educational Society (MDES), St. Joseph’s Central School, Vijayanagar, will host an invitation inter-school tournament on Aug. 2, featuring girls’ throwball and boys’ basketball competitions.

The tournament will take place at the school grounds and follow a knockout format. Around 24 girls’ throwball teams and 12 boys’ basketball teams from various schools have already confirmed their participation for the tournament. Attractive trophies will be awarded to the winners in both categories.

Former National Table Tennis player Srinivas will inaugurate the tournament at 9 am tomorrow. Rev. Fr. Edward William Saldanha, Secretary of MDES and Rev. Fr. Naveen Kumar, Correspondent and Treasurer, MDES, will grace the occasion. Prize distribution is scheduled for 4.30 pm at the school premises.

Elizabeth S. Thomas, Principal of St Joseph’s Central School, Vijayanagar, will be present.
