July 30, 2025

Visitors to Kakanakote Safari Centre at Dammanakatte in H.D. Kote taluk under the Nagarahole Tiger Reserve were in for a treat as they witnessed a tigress along with its two playful cubs. July 29 being ‘International Tiger Day,’ many wildlife enthusiasts and shutterbugs from Mysuru visited the safari centre to capture the tigers on their mobile phones and cameras. International Tiger Day was celebrated at all 57 tiger reserves in the country including Nagarahole Tiger Reserve to create awareness on tiger conversation. The tigress at Nagarahole Tiger Reserve is famous among the wildlife enthusiasts as ‘Magge Female’ and is considered to be one of the iconic tigers in Kabini. [Pic. by M.N. Lakshminarayana Yadav]
