Rahul Gandhi to address rally in K.R. Nagar on Apr. 13; Mayawati’s public meet in Mysuru on Apr. 10

Mysuru: The much-touted joint electioneering by coalition partners Congress and JD(S) scheduled on Apr. 9 (tomorrow) at J.K. Grounds, to show unity in the face of skirmishes between party workers at the ground level, has been postponed. The rally will now be held on Apr. 12 at Maharaja’s College Grounds.

Coalition sources told Star of Mysore that the rally was postponed to Apr. 12 due to unavoidable circumstances. “Now the rally will be held on Apr. 12 at 6 pm where coalition leaders including JD(S) supremo and former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Leader and former Chief Minister Siddharamaiah will address the rally,” sources said.

RAHUL RALLY

Meanwhile, Congress President Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in K.R. Nagar on Apr. 13. Rahul will address the rally at 5 pm at Radio Maidan, said Tourism Minister S.R. Mahesh.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, Mahesh said that H.D. Deve Gowda, CM H.D. Kumaraswamy and a host of leaders will address the gathering. All of them will canvass for Mandya Lok Sabha coalition candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy. K.R. Nagar comes under Mandya LS Seat.

MAYA CAMPAIGN

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President Mayawati will address a public rally on Apr. 10 at 11 am. The rally will be held at Maharaja’s College Grounds.

Speaking to Star of Mysore Kollegal MLA and BSP leader N. Mahesh said that Mayawati will arrive in Mysuru from Lucknow at 11 am and will address a massive rally that will see the participation of thousands of people. It will be Mayawati’s only rally in Karnataka as BSP has a presence in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar.

She will be accompanied by Rajya Sabha members Satish Chandra Misra and Dr. Ashok Siddhartha and former UP MLC M.L. Tomar. After addressing the rally in Mysuru, Mayawati will proceed to Chennai.
