Mysuru: Kannada play ‘Yaaru ee Keechaka?’ will be staged at Natana Rangashale in Ramakrishnanagar on Jan. 12 at 6.30 pm. The play is written by K.L. Vishwanatha, a retired Kannada Professor and directed by K.V. Krishna Kashyap, a seasoned theatre artiste.
The play explores the process of character analysis, challenges well-known concepts and blends the fervour of Shringara (romance) and Veera (valour) emotions. The audience themselves are the ultimate arbiters of Keechaka’s personality.
The producer and director anticipate the audience’s reviews and deem that critical appreciation and encouragement will serve as the true accolade to their efforts.
The director himself plays the lead role in the production. Mysuru-based theatre artistes, including retired IAS Officer A.K. Monnappa, Dr. Madhuri Kulkarni, Badri Narayan and Anuradha Nandakumar, perform in key roles.
Students undergoing training at Natana Rangashale will be seen performing as young Bheema, Jarasandha, Keechaka and Duryodhana, who indeed are classmates in their childhood hermitic abode, learning and playing together. This adds an exciting and enriching element to the play, making it a delightful experience for all.
