Karnataka State Inter-Schools Chess Tourney: Deepthi Lakshmi wins U-15 Mixed title

Mysuru:  K. Deepthi Lakshmi of VEMS, Dakshina Kannada, with 5.5 points from six rounds tied with Mysuru lad Chaitanya Ganesh (Excel Public School), but on the basis of her better progressive tie-break score of 21.75 to the latter’s 16, clinched the title in the Karnataka State Inter-Schools Chess Tourney, conducted jointly by Mysore Chess Centre and Concorde International School, at the School campus in Bogadi here on Sunday.

There were a total of 310 entries (boys and girls) from across Karnataka. The tournament was inaugurated by National Chess Champion Tulasi.
