Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat to host ‘Kaviya Nodi, Kavite Keli’ event

Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat, District Unit, is organising a unique ‘Kaviya Nodi Kavite Keli’ singing and reading of poems programme tomorrow from 5 pm at MBCT auditorium near Sterling theatre in Vidyaranyapuram, said President of Sugama Sangeetha Parishat’s District Unit Dr. Nagaraj V. Bairy, at a press conference in the city on Thursday.

Renowned poets Dr. H.S. Venkateshamurthy, B.R. Lakshman Rao and Jayappa Honnali will participate in the event.

The programme will be inaugurated by Parishat’s State President Y.K. Muddukrishna. Parishat Working President Dr. Kikkeri Krishnamurthy and Assistant Director of Kannada and Culture Dr. M.D. Sudarshan will be the chief guests.

President of Mandya  Sugama Sangeetha Parishat David Prathibhanjali and Working Committee Member Narasimha Murthy will be the special guests.

Singers Y.K. Muddukrishna, Dr. Kikkeri Krishnamurthy, Sunita Jogi, Mangala Ravi, A.D. Srinivas, Nitin Rajaram Shastri, David Pratibhanjali, Amulya, Divya Sachchidananda, Hamsini, Purushotham and Rajesh Padiyar will present popular light music songs. They will be accompanied by Ganesh Bhat and Purushotham on keyboard, Raghunath on tabla, Gurudatt on rhythmpad and Raghavendra Prasad on drums.

“Sugama Sangeetha has a dedicated audience in Mysuru. Previous programmes organised by the Parishat had received very good response in the city with packed audience. Though entry is free for Sunday’s programme, passes will be distributed at the venue just to keep a count of the audience,” said Dr. Nagaraj Bairy.
