Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Police Academy (KPA), Mysuru, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Savitribai Phule National Institute of Women and Child Development (SPNIWCD), a prestigious institute of Central Government, recently.
The MoU fosters exchange of resource persons, research, development and designing of new courses. KPA Deputy Director S.L. Chennabasavanna, who holds additional charge as Director and P.J. Philips, Director of SPNIWCD, Bengaluru Regional Centre, signed the MoU respectively.
Chennabasavanna said, the MoU aims to build a harassment free society, with the women and children in the present-day society, facing numerous challenges. It will aid in management of crisis and Police on duty, by making them more empathetic. Let us hope that the cases related to harassment of women and children come down gradually, thus paving way for a harassment free society.
Philips said, the MoU with KPA is a matter of pride, as it is mainly intended at joining hands with the Police to check the cases of harassment on women and children.
Deputy Director of SPNIWCD, Regional Centre, Bengaluru, Lokesh, KPA officers and teaching faculty were present.
